Sharon Healthcare in Peoria, Illinois is a skilled nursing home serving the needs of residents on one floor. The facility required relocation and some replacement for their existing magnetic locking devices. The existing magnetic locks were positioned within the doorway inhibiting the space to pass through safely.

This restricted ease of movement confronted the possible need for replacement of door hardware modification. Thompson Electronics Company developed a solution that would use special brackets and connectors to move those existing magnetic devices out of the door way and placed above the door.

The purpose for using magnetic locks is to prevent safety to wandering patients. If a patient passes through an alarm will occur informing the staff of this action. A keypad is used allowing staff the use of this passage without creating a warning alarm.

We satisfied the nursing homes requirements by finishing in a timely fashion. We also fit their budget needs to create a solution that was workable and safe for the facility, staff, and patients.
