The Lisle Police Department decided to build a new facility. They were formerly located in an old school building 3 blocks from the newly constructed facility. This new facility includes 3 holding cells, 4 male, 2 female, and 2 juvenile detention cells along with a drive-in sallyport.

A Neural Logic Control Panel is located in the main office of the Lisle Police Department. This security system consists of video surveillance, controlled access doors, individual cell door control, intercom system, personal duress system and audio duress system.

A special interlock feature prevents inmate escape from the vehicle sallyport by allowing only one door to be open at a time.

All of these features are integrated and can be controlled by one operator from a single workstation. This method was very important to our customers because they preferred controlling the facility from one computer workstation.

Incorporated in this design is a Kallix Digital Video Recorder for both video surveillance and interaction with access and door control functions. Cameras placed throughout the facility and surrounding grounds are recorded onto a computer hard drive and not videotapes.

In the cell areas, a voice activated audio duress system was integrated into the intercom system. If an inmate or staff member creates a noise above a preset threshold, the control panel is notified of this occurrence and alerts the operator to any emergencies or disturbances.
Officers and police department employees wear a personal duress system. Activating this pager-like device with the touch of a button can notify the control panel of any emergencies. A man-down feature automatically activates the alarm if the person falls.

Video cameras located on the exterior of the building and in the indoor parking garage are monitored by the video surveillance system.
Arrivals and departures can be monitored to ensure the safety of officers and visitors. Environmental enclosures protect the cameras from adverse weather conditions. |
