The
Henry County Courthouse
is on the National Register
of Historic Places. The
historic value was very
important to the community,
but was inadequate in
size to serve the population.
The facility
expansion incorporated
and preserved the older
portions of the building.
Courtroom Sound & Security
New courtrooms, jail cells and office space were added to the
facility. Sound systems
were installed in
each of the new
courtrooms. The system
allows court
proceedings to be
heard clearly in
the gallery area.
Security devices
were installed that easily allow
court personnel to
quietly summon assistance
should the need
arise.

Electronic access
control for staff members,
cameras, inmate cell
doors and security intercom
systems all interface
at the control console
in central control. Security
officers have complete control
over the facility from
the control console.. Touch
screen graphics and other
devices allow for an
easy and effective human
interface to the electronic
control systems.

Added Security with Video Visitation
Video
visitation was
implemented at the
Henry County Jail.
Video
visitation assures
that no contraband may
be passed between
inmates and visitors.
The system enhances
inmate and jail staff
security by minimizing
the distance that
an inmate needs to
be escorted for visitation.
The system is composed of
a color video camera, color
monitor, speaker microphone
combination and light source
behind SAR plexiglas enclosed
in a protective metal
housing. Power to each visitation
booth is remotely controlled
so that visitation
times may be monitored
and enforced by jail
staff.
