A key ingredient for East Peoria High School when planning for student, staff and property safety was video surveillance. These video cameras observe such areas as hallways, stairways, the studyhall and cafeteria. All of the video information from these areas is processed in the office and may be recorded.
All video information from each camera is routed to the office. The video located in the office may be directly observed, or the camera output may be recorded. all video cameras are routed through the video multiplexer. The output of the multiplexer may be recorded on a 96 hour super high density video recorder.
At East Peoria Community High School, some areas of the building are recorded 24 hours per day, and other building locations are recorded as the area is used. The flexibility of the multiplexer and video recorder combination allows the school to document activities in areas as needed.
As changes are needed in the high school, this system design allows for expansion. The size of the multiplexer will allow the system to expand before additional camera processing equipment is required.
