Fire Alarm - Henry County Courthouse |
| |
Henry
County Courthouse
Henry, IL |
The
Henry County Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic
Places.
The historic value was very
important to the community,
but the building was inadequate
in size to serve the population.
The facility expansion incorporated
and preserved the older
portions of the building. This was an integrated systems project
of security,
audio, and video.
More
on system integration
of this project. |

The EST 2 Fire Alarm Control Panel installed in this facility packs all of the elements of a full-featured Smoke Control System as well as a Smoke Detection System. This system not only detects smoke throughout the facility, but also upon alarm takes control of fans and dampers within building zones to remove smoke under critical conditions. Thus providing a safer occupancy.
Thompson Electronics Company provided this compact but sophisticated
system simply after
interpreting the
complicated sequence of operation tables provided by the electrical
engineer. The EST 2 System was
proposed because
of its ease of installation
and providing the additional benefits of fan and damper control
integrated to the
fire alarm detection
system without an
additional expense of separate systems.
|
|
Its
existing structure did not allow easy access to wire the conduit.
However, the EST2 System will allow easy retrofit capabilities
within the existing facility without intrusive conduit penetration.

| |
This
fire alarm detection
system is an analog/addressable
system that gives specific
location and descriptions
for each individual device.
This allows authorities
to respond quickly by
determing the
location of the actual
fire. This valuable feature
saves time and saves
lives. The compact control panel
displays duplicate information
in a smaller remote annunciator.
This annunciator also
has individual fan control
switches to control smoke
manually during critical
times.
