Proctor Community Hospital | Center for Senior Behavioral Health

Proctor Community Hospital implemented a planned strategy of upgrading Healthcare Communications Systems in the hospital several years ago. In the growth process consistent with the Hospital’s continuing initiative to provide expanded healthcare services in the Peoria Community, Proctor opened a new eighteen bed geriatric psychiatry unit.
According to the Peoria Journal Star, “Newly renovated, the locked unit features a dining and activity room. Patients can receive a variety of counseling and a variety of therapies, including physical and activity therapy. Families also may come in for therapy sessions, Angie Moore, Proctor's executive director of behavioral health said.” “The goal is for the patient to return, safely, to their original setting, whether it was home or a nursing home. But that may not always be possible. In such cases, the center will help families find the appropriate placement for their loved one,” she continued.
Special sensitivities were required for this type of unit. Calls are placed using push-buttons in all patient areas. Staff may respond from the Nurses Station, or move directly to the call location following the bright LED corridor dome lights. All patient areas feature full two way digital audio communication between the patient rooms and the Nurses Sation.
The Ascom Telligence Nurse Call serving the hospital was expanded into this area to provide a consistent unified platform of Hospital / Staff / Patient communications utilizing all of the Telergy Software functions incorporated into the Telligence Healthcare Communications System presently in use at the Hospital.

project highlights:
  • Ascom Telligence Nurse Call System
  • Full patient / staff communication in a protected environment
  • Complete integration with the hospital’s existing Telergy and iP Reports software system
  • Easy, assured communications
