Thompson Electronics uses Goldline Speech Intelligibility and Privacy Measurement System, manufactured by Goldline Instruments to give precise measurements when designing audio systems. These measurements express the intelligibility of the sound or paging system. Previously this type of measurement and design evaluation was a subjective measurement based on the Loss of Consonants in speech (ALCONs).

Additional uses for this technology.

* The Goldline system is used to evaluate existing sound and paging systems.

*Verify and check newly installed audio systems.

* Evaluate and document the performance of Emergency Voice Evacuation Systems.

* Set up Sound Masking (speech privacy systems) and verify correct operation.
(Speech privacy systems are designed to be installed in open office environments and are used to mask voice conversations by reproducing a broad sound frequency spectrum in the human voice range at a level that sounds similar to rushing air.)
