Installation Standards

The successful operation of a new sound system is directly related to the quality of design and installation.
Our AV professionals have the training and experience to assure the best in the industry. A quality installation lowers life cycle costs by reducing the need for service calls or possibly premature product replacement and helps to guarantee the system operates to its full potential.

Experience and Knowledge

A key factors in assuring excellence is our compliance with standards and training in the industry.
Our Audio Design Engineers and Technicians have training and certifications with NICET, along
with electronics systems integration certifications. They have the field experience to test, troubleshoot and certify all systems for the highest quality performance.

Certifications
  • BA in Audio & Acoustics
  • CTS, Certified Technology Specialist designated by InfoComm International.
  • NICET I, II, Audio - National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technology
  • C-EST®, NSCA's Certified Electronic Systems Technician certification is an industry recognized credential for established installers and technicians.
  • Crestron Level II programming

We employ union IBEW electronics journeyman or higher.

Preparation

Before we begin the on-site installation, a great deal of work is done in our shop. Equipment racks are loaded and terminated, speaker clusters are assembled and painted, and digital processing equipment is programmed. Performing this work in a controlled environment assures the systems are assembled correctly and according to factory standards. Assembly in the shop also helps to reduce the amount of on-site work required. In doing so, the change-over-period to the new system is much shorter, reducing travel and overnight expenses.

Quality

Once assembled, electronics are tested and "burned-in." With many of today's electronic components, failure is most common in the first 24-48 hours of operation. The burn-in period allows us to catch potentially defective equipment prior to the on-site installation. This helps to assure successful operation of the system and a quality installation.

Thompson Electronics is dedicated to continuing education and each technician receives additional training yearly. Classes include product specific factory training, loudspeaker rigging standards and advanced sound system installation practices.

Growth Potential

The installation process does not end when the on-site work is complete. Engineered CAD drawings are assembled to show the system's configuration. These computer-generated drawings make future repairs easy to diagnose. Complete in-service training is provided to make sure the customer understands how to use the system. Owner manuals are provided that include product literature and step-by-step instructions. The operator can consult these manuals with simple questions.
